What's a Cruise Group?
Family & Friends, Clubs, Class Reunions, Weddings, Churches, Companies, Incentives, Birthdays, Anniversaries - all kinds of affinities of all sizes can be found on a group cruise.
A successful cruise group has:
• A common bond
• A history of doing things together
• A newsletter of other means of communication
• A strong group leader (we like to call them "pied pipers")
Some examples of groups we have done in the past: family reunions, birthday bashes, friends reuniting, celebrity fan clubs, church groups, country club groups, weddings, and much more. These groups take the opportunity to spend time together in the fun and relaxed atmosphere of a cruise ship. Very little organizing is needed by the group leader, since everything is arranged by us and the ship's staff. Meeting rooms and special parties can be easily arranged.
What Cruise Line To Choose?
What cruise line to choose depends on two main things:
• What is the right cruise environment for the group?
• What deal will the cruise line offer?
The cruise line reviews to the left will provide guidance about cruise lines and cruise ships, including reviews by fellow passengers.
What's The Deal?
The cruise group deals consist of:
• Free Travel. Cruise groups earn free travel. It can be one passenger free per every 16, or sometimes as low as one for every 8 or 10 on some of the luxury lines. Group promotions are based on cabins with at least two people in them, and count each such passenger. For example "every 16th" means the 16th passenger will be free. All you pay are port charges and airfare. Remember - free passengers "earned" have to be based on the first two passengers per cabin. Any third or fourth passengers in a cabin will not count towards the free.
• Special Amenities. Many cruise lines may also reward groups with free amenities such as cocktail parties, specialty restaurant dining, credits to onboard charge accounts, and other similar benefits. These amenities will depend on the cruise line, whether it is low or high season, and other factors.
